On July 1 people were invited to the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Powwow. There were over 500 dancers, and several singing and drumming groups. All ages were involved. The regalia they wore was wonderful, and the dances and regalia told stories of their heritage.
On August 20 people were invited to “Shared Land/Shared Song” at Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. A choir of Mennonites sang and people from Muskeg Lake drummed, sang and danced, both groups sharing about their history. A young fiddler and a Metis dancer also shared their talents. A potluck meal followed.
