Becoming the answer to our prayers

BECOMING THE ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS

In their book, Common Prayer: A liturgy for ordinary radicals,* the authors suggest, at the end of each month, a list of practical steps we can take to embody our prayers.  This year, on the first of each month, I will offer several of their suggestions, and perhaps occasionally add a few of my own.  I would love to hear how you put some of these into practice?

1      Try to go a whole week without spending any money.

2      Attempt to repair something that is broken.  Appreciate the people who repair things for you on a regular basis.

3      Defy complacency and flout despair.  Believe that you can do something, right now, right here – even if you take only a baby step.

*Authors are Shane Claiborne, Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, and          Enuma Okoro.
