Worship series: ‘Faith Goes to the Movies’
Sunday, August 1 ‘The Gift: The journey of Johnny Cash’
Scripture: Hebrews 11.1-12.2
This Sunday we are beginning a new series on faith in the movies. Today we will focus on the story of Johnny Cash, a story of sin and redemption, of grace and a passion for justice. Known as ‘the man in black’ Cash once said: “Black is better for church.” In a later song he went further, singing, “I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,” including those “who’ve never read / Or listened to the words that Jesus said.”
And we will ask: What is the difference between a hero and a saint? Join for worship in song, story, word and prayer.
